This plant requires a lot of maintained as it grows extremely fast and will eventually over power your aquarium if not properly trimmed back; which can be done by running your finger through it removing any dead or separate plants. The Java Fern does well in almost all lighting qualities, but does best in bright light. The water should be harder and natural in pH with temperatures being around 75 degrees Fahrenheit.

Java Moss
Java Moss is an extremely popular choice amongst beginner fish enthusiasts. This particular plant is extremely difficult to kill. The Java Moss can be left to free float or can be attached to a rock or large piece of driftwood or aquarium decoration. This plant tends to grow rather slowly and only grows to be around a quarter of an inch in height, making it an ideal hiding spot for fish and a great spot for pregnant fish to lay their eggs or newborns. The Java Moss does well in almost all lighting qualities, but does best in bright light giving the plant a nicer green color. The water can be left the same as before adding the plant and does not be adjusted or monitored, much like the Java Fern.
